This project is an exploration of safety and awareness for urban cyclists that aims to increase night-time visibility and instill greater confidence while riding to and from places like work or school. Risk of Collision and lack of safety are a large discouraging factor in users willingness to ride, especially at night when visibility is low. Making a cyclist’s presence known to other cyclists and automobiles that are sharing the road is key in preventing dangerous accidents and can help instill confidence in riders, encouraging them to get out more. With nearly 130,000 cycling accidents per year, it becomes an area of utmost importance, but begs the question, what can we do to reduce this number?
